3 Mandatory Mindset Musts (Positive Thinking Tips)
How we see our friends, our career, our lives, and ourselves really comes down to our perception of our own reality. Now I have talked about this before the glass half full half empty personality types in my book Make Success Mandatory. Let’s dig just a little deeper for a second and dive down into the rabbit hole of positive thinking.
I know many of you are saying “oh great another positive pep talk” if you are looking for that you have come to the wrong place. I am not going to tell you if you are 100lbs over weight go stand in the mirror and say, “I am lean, I am ripped, I am in amazing shape” and by some positive magical powers that 100lbs will just melt away…because it won’t! It’s going to take more than just positive thinking to change that, like changing your eating habits, changing your exercise habits, and it’s going to take time a lot of time to drop 100lbs. Real Results take REAL HARD WORK…
My point: everything starts with a mandatory mindset seeing things as they are in a positive light. Not seeing things better than they really are lying to yourself, or seeing things worse then they really are (being negative & self-sabotaging your progress) all I am asking you to do is see things in your life as they truly are –in a positive light.
Do you really have things that bad in the BIG picture of life? Odds are you don’t your problems are very small compared to millions of others out there….
In nearly every situation in our lives be it good-bad-horrible and everything in between something positive or a valuable lesson can be learned from it at least that has been the case in my young life.
Check it: having a mandatory mindset = seeing things positively can do numerous things for you including lowering your rate of depression, increase your overall life span (living a longer kick ass life), even reduce your risk of common colds, infections, and various diseases. Yeah positive thinking can help with all that…basically having a mandatory mindset makes your life not only longer but all around more bad ass!
Without further delay here are my 3 Mandatory Mindset (Positive Thinking Tips) to ensure your life is nothing short of badass.
1. Move Your Body – do the things you love to do physically! I am not saying you need to join a gym, or compete in a bodybuilding show, but get up, get out and get moving but most important have fun with it. Find the things you look forward to doing even when you are tired, exhausted and would normally skip physical activity. Now that might be zumba, crossfit, running, golf, bowling, riding bike, hiking, rollerblading, doing cannon balls in your pool for 20 minutes…my point whatever gets you excited, jacked up, and moving do it and do it often. If nothing else you should dedicate at least 1 #mandatoryminute click for video to your exercise and body every single day. The power of that 1st minute of activity can make all the difference in your entire day.
2. See your Success happen before it actually happens – Visualization: like most things in your life you need to see it before it happens. Imagine all your goals in life, physical, career, relationships, travel who you want to be, where you want to go, what you want to do in this life see it happen in your mind first. That is where everything great first happens; the power to see it inside translates to making it happen in reality. Take 3-5 #mandatoryminutes each day and visualize your goals, hopes, dreams, ideas…you might even get lost in thought and that is where the magic happens for many of us!
Every great thing I have done in my life I witnessed it and lived it hundreds if not thousands of times in my mind before it ever came to life!
3. Stop Worrying – I have said it before and I will say it again worrying is like a rocking chair it gives you something to do but gets you nowhere. I always ask myself a few quick questions when it comes to worrying:
Can you control this problem?
Will this problem matter in 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year from today?
Is this truly a life-altering problem?
If the answer to a majority of these is “NO” I simply let it go and move onto my day with more important pressing business I can actually control. Often times we get so caught up in fearing what might happen the anxiety of worrying about the problem is 100 x worse than the actual problem itself. I have seen people literally worry themselves sick, they physically become ill with various physical symptoms by the power their mind has given to worrying.
Odds are if you really step back and look at things from a distance the problem is not really all that bad and can easily be solved of handled with a little effort. Think about the last 2 “problems” you had are they are really all that horrible/bad/life changing when you think about them?
The 3 mandatory mindset take away tips–
1 –Move your body – do what you love and do it daily!
2 – See yourself being successful in your mind 1st – visualization is a powerful tool use it and use it daily!
3 – Stop worrying about everything negative thing that “might” happen 6 miles down the road sometimes just focusing 6 inches in front of your face is the best approach.
You do these 3 things and you do them daily – your life will immediately go from average to epic almost overnight.
Simple easy and effective, but trust me it works now go out and make that mandatory today!
