This blog is not about training, intermittent fasting, gluten free, paleo, carb backloading, tababtas, CrossFit or anything in that universe. This message is about something much more important than strength training and nutrition….and yes there is things more important than your macros and PR’s….trust me on that!  Let me start this off by saying “I HAVE A KICK ASS LIFE” plain and simple I live a pretty blessed, badass life 24-7-365. Like anything it’s all in…

I tell Heather this all the time, few things in life are ever perfect nothing in my life is or has ever been perfect. No day, no situation, no scenario, not one thing – and there is never a perfect time to get on track – but if you are sick of your current situation here are 3 Rules I use for fitness and every other arena of my life to be as successful as possible.…

Recently I was invited to a challenge for 2013 – and a running challenge at that. Now I have made it clear I am not a runner, not that I can’t run…..the reality is I simply don’t get this “runners high” I hear people talking about. I supposes I get “lifters high” from jacking steel which I imagine to be similar so I can see the appeal of running to million of fitness fanatics out there.…

Hey guys I get a lot of questions about how I stay motivated, what gets me motivated to train, to coach, to wake up at 4am day in and day out….well besides my passion for this health & fitness lifestyle….I grab motivation from people who are successful in life not… just fitness. I study a lot about people like Michael Jordan, Opra, Steve Jobs, Warren Buffett, and Eric Thomas…… I am a huge Eric Thomas follower…

I want to touch on something that is not all that fitness related. It’s about how you view your life and things that happen to you, and with every event you can see the positive or you can dwell on the negative. To make a long story short my car was burglarized yesterday in broad day light, smashed in my window and stole my phone, wallet, I.D., credit cards, debit cards, laptop and a stash of…

Today I turn 29 and in just another 365 days I will be the BIG 3-0! I remember back in the day when I thought people who were in their late 20’s were so old, many of you will get a chuckle out of that I am sure……..so that got me to thinking about all the mistakes I have made and lessons I have learned these past 29 years fitness related and otherwise that I wanted…

I came across this photo the other day and it really sparked something inside me to think about what success really is to me and my life…….  So I wanted to touch on something really quick not 100% fitness related here about success in your life and how we as a society tend to judge it. We as a society typically measure success by… Job title – Receptionist vs. CEO Level of Education – High School…

Hey guys this blog post is not super fitness related, but I wanted to share it as it might help some of you step back and see what matters the most in your life, as I often forget from time to time…… I had a chance to take my annual home visit back to Minnesota over the 4th of July Holiday. I only go home once a year, as I am acclimated to the Scottsdale/Phoenix weather…

Live each as if it’s your last because one day it will be……. Where are you on your health and fitness journey? Some of you have seen this from me before, but please do the math it’s an eye opener! Step 1. Get out a pen and paper Step 2. Multiply your age by x 365 (that gives you your age in days) Step 3. Subtract that number from 27,375 (that’s an average life span in…

It’s not about where you start but where you finish in life some of us started out rich, some poor, some middle of the pack……..same goes for your health and fitness journey. Some of us start out paper thin with zero muscle mass and couldn’t gain weight good or bad to save their life, others start out huge and gain weight just looking at a burger and fries. Each comes with its own set of benefits…
